Anniversary gifts made from your own photograph

An anniversary gift has a harder job than most: it competes with every anniversary before it. A photograph you both remember taking does the work that a bought object cannot, and a blanket keeps doing it long after the date has passed, because it stops being a gift the moment someone pulls it over their knees.

Both designs here are built around pictures you already have, and every line of text on them is typed by you rather than chosen from a list.

Which of the two suits you

  • Navy Damask Two Photo Couples Blanket holds two portraits side by side on a navy damask ground, with your names and your date. Pick it when the gift is about the two of you and nobody else, and when you want the date itself to be the centrepiece.
  • Pine Wreath Five Photo First Christmas Blanket gathers five pictures under a pine wreath and a red bow, with the one that matters most cut into a heart at the centre. It is the one for a first year together, and it comes in five colourways so it can match a room rather than only a season.

Choosing the photographs

Anniversary pictures tend to be older than the ones people usually send us, and that changes the advice:

  • An old photo is fine. A picture from ten years ago carries more than a sharper one from last month. Send it and we will tell you honestly what size it can hold.
  • Scans beat photographs of photographs. If the original is on paper, a flatbed scan at home keeps far more detail than a phone shot of it under a lamp.
  • Watch the crop. The heart shape on the Pine Wreath design cuts in from every side, so a picture where you sit close together survives it better than one taken from a distance.
  • Check the faces, not the background. A dim room can be lifted; a face that was out of focus when the shutter fired cannot.

Ordering in time for the date

Nothing is held in stock, so the calendar matters more here than for a gift bought off a shelf:

  • Production: 3–5 business days, Monday to Friday, before the parcel exists at all.
  • Delivery after that: 5–10 business days in the United States, 4–15 to the other countries we ship to.
  • A proof is available on request before production begins — leave a note with your order, or email info@hakhatu.com with your order number.

Working backwards, three weeks before the date is the sensible cut-off, and four is safer for anything crossing a border. An order placed on a Friday afternoon does not start production until Monday.

Choose a design, pick a size and a finish, and place the order. For a personalized design, enter your photos and wording exactly as you want them to appear; a proof is available on request — leave a note with your order or email info@hakhatu.com with your order number, and we will send one before production begins. Illustrated designs are printed exactly as shown.

Production: 3–5 business days, Monday to Friday. Delivery after production: 5–10 business days in the United States, 4–15 business days to the other countries we ship to. In unusual circumstances — customs, severe weather, peak season — delivery can stretch to 20–25 business days. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Looking after it

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron the design. Follow the care label supplied with the item; product-specific instructions take priority over this general guidance.

If something is wrong

Contact us within 14 days of delivery if the item is the wrong size, differs from the design shown or the details you submitted, or arrives damaged. Email info@hakhatu.com with your order number and clear photos. Once verified, we replace or refund at no cost to you, and in most cases you do not need to send anything back.

Items personalized with details you entered — a misspelled name, a wrong date, or a size chosen at checkout — cannot be taken back, so please review every field before you pay. To cancel, email us within 12 hours of ordering.
