A blanket built around your cat

One cat and the name you actually call them. Some layouts take a single photograph, others hold six at once — either way the design is made to order around the images you send, not assembled from a stock illustration of a tabby.

Most of these are bought by people who live with the cat, which is a slightly different thing from buying a pet gift. The design is not a joke about cats. It is a picture of a specific animal, at a size you can put on a sofa.

Cats photograph differently from dogs

Cats do not pose on request, and the usual advice about pet photos does not entirely apply:

  • Wait, do not chase. The best cat photos are almost always of a cat who is asleep, sitting in a window, or ignoring you. A cat who has noticed the phone is already leaving.
  • Window light in the daytime. Indoor evening light is the single most common reason a cat photo arrives grainy — phone cameras raise sensitivity in dim rooms, and that noise is very visible once enlarged.
  • Black cats need light from the front. Against a window, a black cat becomes a shape. Turn so the light falls on the face.
  • Do not use flash. It flattens fur, produces reflective eyes, and the effect cannot be undone afterwards.
  • Leave the whiskers room. Whiskers are wider than the head and are the first thing lost to a tight crop.

Their name

Reproduced exactly as you type it, accents included. Cats accumulate names — use whichever one the household actually says out loud, not the one on the adoption form.

Which size

  • 30 x 40 in — realistically, the cat will claim this one. It is also the right size for a lap or a crib.
  • 50 x 60 in — the sofa size, and the usual choice when the blanket is for a person.
  • 60 x 80 in — bed-sized. Only worth it if your original file is genuinely sharp.

Fleece is lighter and washes easily, which is the practical choice if the cat is going to sleep on it — and the cat is going to sleep on it. Sherpa is warmer, heavier and feels more like a gift.

More than one cat

The six-frame designs in this collection give each photo its own space, which suits a multi-cat household far better than trying to fit everyone into one shot. For layouts that are not cat-specific, the collage blankets hold five, six or eight pictures.

For a cat you have lost

A good number of these orders are for a cat who is no longer here, often using a photo that is years old and was never meant to be enlarged. Send it to us before you order and we will tell you which size it can carry. The memorial designs are the quieter option if you would rather have the name and a date and nothing else.

How ordering works

Choose a design, pick a size and a finish, and place the order. For a personalized design, enter your photos and wording exactly as you want them to appear; a proof is available on request — leave a note with your order or email info@hakhatu.com with your order number, and we will send one before production begins. Illustrated designs are printed exactly as shown.

Production: 3–5 business days, Monday to Friday. Delivery after production: 5–10 business days in the United States, 4–15 business days to the other countries we ship to. In unusual circumstances — customs, severe weather, peak season — delivery can stretch to 20–25 business days. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Looking after it

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron the design. Follow the care label supplied with the item; product-specific instructions take priority over this general guidance.

If something is wrong

Contact us within 14 days of delivery if the item is the wrong size, differs from the design shown or the details you submitted, or arrives damaged. Email info@hakhatu.com with your order number and clear photos. Once verified, we replace or refund at no cost to you, and in most cases you do not need to send anything back.

Items personalized with details you entered — a misspelled name, a wrong date, or a size chosen at checkout — cannot be taken back, so please review every field before you pay. To cancel, email us within 12 hours of ordering.
